I have been compensated by PediaSure for this post; however, I am sharing my own thoughts. All opinions are my own. #PediaSure #Sidekicks #ForPickyEaters
Monday was a pretty big day in our house. Huge, actually. It’s official – we have a kindergartner on our hands!
Although I think we were all nervous, the day actually went pretty well despite a few outfit changes before leaving the house, a little confusion as to where to meet her teacher, and chaos at pickup…but as a mom who has already been though the kindergarten craziness once, I think that’s all fairly normal. I’m considering Monday a kindergarten win.
As I listened to her talk about her day, Hazeline mentioned not liking the lunch offered in the cafeteria. She also brought home most of what I packed her for lunch. Despite numerous inquiries, I still have absolutely no idea what she ate on Monday. As thankful as I am to have the school cafeteria on days when I’m too tired to pack a lunch or it accidentally gets left at home, it also works against me in that fact that I’m not in control of what she’s eating or how much she’s eating. It’s a new level of independence that I’m not quite ready for just yet. Thankfully, there are PediaSure SideKicks.
Designed to fill the nutrition gaps, PediaSure SideKicks contain 7g protein, 3g fiber, and 25 essential vitamins and minerals for kids ages 2-13 years old who are growing fine but may be missing key nutrients in their regular diet. In 3 yummy flavors – Vanilla Smoothie, Chocolate Smoothie, and Strawberry Smoothie – PediaSure SideKicks are sure to get the approval from even the pickiest eaters. And should your child have special dietary needs, PediaSure SideKicks are gluten-free, kosher, and suitable for kids with lactose intolerance. They even come in a resealable bottle perfect for lunchboxes or active kids on the go!
While I may never know what Hazeline ate at school on Monday, I know what she had before she left – a Peach Vanilla Raspberry Swirl Smoothie!
Easy and delicious, this smoothie allowed me to fill her with the nutrition she needs before she even left the house, because instead of milk, it has PediaSure SideKicks Vanilla Smoothie. She loved it…and I wasn’t in a panic when she returned home with a full lunchbox.
Think your picky eater might like this smoothie? Be sure to look for PediaSure SideKicks at your local Walmart (along side the formula in the baby aisle) and check out the recipe below! To save on your next purchase of PediaSure SideKicks, consider bundling or using Ibotta!
You will need:
1 8oz container of PediaSure SideKicks Vanilla Smoothie
1 cup frozen peaches
1 cup frozen raspberries
granola (optional)
peach slice (optional)
Step 1 – Place PediaSure Vanilla Milkshake and frozen peaches in a blender and blend until smooth. Pour approximately 3/4 cup – 1 cup of the peach smoothie into 2 separate cups and leave the extra peach smoothie in the blender.
Step 2 – Place frozen raspberries in the bender with the remaining peach smoothie and blend until well combined. Pour the raspberry smoothie in each of the cups, on top of the peach smoothie. If mixture is too stiff to pour, add a few tablespoons of water to the raspberry smoothie and blend for an additional 10 -20 seconds.
Step 3 – Using a straw, swirl the flavors together and top with granola and a peach slice. Enjoy!
Yummy! My kids will love this too 🙂
