You may not know this, but I’m a huge fan of Amazon. HUGE. I mean, there’s this place on the internet where I can buy virtually anything, pay for it with my saved payment settings (no scrambling for a card), and, thanks to my Prime Membership, it arrives at my doorstep 2 days later. Oh, and shipping is free. What’s not to love? And considering that going out to the mall during the week is often out of the question due to time constraints (i.e. bedtimes), ordering on Amazon sometimes gets my items to me even faster than waiting to go out and purchase them over the weekend. I order on Tuesday and have the item by Thursday, long before that trip that I scheduled to the mall on Saturday…which may or may not happen depending on the nap schedule at my house and how badly I want the item to take my overtired kids out in public. I don’t regret one dollar of that Amazon Prime Membership. Really, I don’t.
But recently, Amazon made shopping even easier with their new feature called Amazon Cart. This new way of shopping allows you to shop Amazon without leaving Twitter. Start by following @Amazon, @AmazonToys, @AmazonDeals, @AmazonKindle, or whatever Amazon you prefer (there are several to choose from!), follow their tweets, and reply “#AmazonCart” when you see something you like. No need to say anything more than that. From there, you’ll get a response from @MyAmazon confirming your tweet along with an email showing the item in your cart. At that point, the item is saved in your cart. Whether you to Amazon immediately or decide to wait a few days, it will be there waiting for you.
Of course, there’s no obligation to buy…but it’s more fun when you do. And then it’s shipped to you using that Prime Shipping you’ve come to know and love, landing at your doorstep with impeccable timing. My girls are going to freak out when they see their taco trucks!
DVDs, toys, books, you name it, you can save it all and never have to leave Twitter, and that’s particularly helpful for people like me who are on social media a lot. And in the unlikely event that an item you see an item that is unavailable using Amazon Cart – it’s rare, but it happens – @MyAmazon will tweet you and let you know. If it’s a book, they may even provide a sample for you to view, which should help you in making your purchase. There are actually lots of books that will provide you with a fairly lengthy sample simply by using the Amazon Cart hashtag. I love getting to sample books before I purchase them.
So there you have it, an even easier way to shop Amazon! Why not give it a try? The next time you find yourself trying to kill a little time (sitting in the school parking lot before school lets out, anyone?) hop on Twitter and check it out!
What’s going in your Amazon Cart?
I am always fotgeting this in my cart and wondering why it hasn’t come in the mail yet? Great idea!!
forgetting that is! lol
I would almost be afraid to use this! It makes it much too easy to spend money on things I want not need. It is a great idea for those who for what ever reason can’t leave their homes and I might try it ONCE—-being semi retired-I have to be real careful with what I spend.
One of my favorite places to shop! I love how they keep making it easier to shop!
This stuff is Amazon is so great. Thanks for sharing 🙂
I love shopping on Amazon! I might try this next time.
