Last fall I told my kids that we were going to Disney on Ice. They were super excited. They – especially Everett – talked about it constantly. It was an event that they couldn’t have been more excited for.
And then Irma came and messed everything up.
Hurricane Irma, that is. Besides closing stores, leaving homes and businesses without power for days, and covering streets with debris…Irma (and it’s aftermath) forced Disney on Ice to cancel their South Florida shows. My kids were heartbroken. Everett talked about it for months.
So when I heard that Disney on Ice was going to be back in South Florida from March 28th through April 8th, I knew we had to go…and that’s exactly what we did on Wednesday!
Disney on Ice presents Reach for the Stars is back in South Florida, with shows in Broward from March 28th through April 1st and shows in Miami-Dade from April 5th through April 8th. Starring Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck and Goofy, Reach for the Stars features Anna and Elsa and the hilarious snowman, Olaf, as they sing captivating songs like “Let it Go” and “In Summer.” But that’s not all! Reach for the Stars also goes under the sea with Sebastian and Ariel in an ‘80s pop montage, gets tangled up in a chorus of harmless hooligans when they get a visit from the spirited Rapunzel and Flynn Rider on their journey to see the floating lights, and relives a tale as old as time when Belle opens her heart to new adventures as the Beast’s enchanted objects take center stage for a dazzling skating spectacle. There’s so much to see in this spectacular show!
My kids loved every single minute of it – the songs, the skating, the special effects…absolutely everything! They couldn’t get enough. I’m always concerned that they will outgrow Disney on Ice, and yet, that’s never the case. Actually, it’s quite the opposite, it’s the show they can’t wait to go back to. They spent the entire 2 hour show with their eyes on the ice, singing along, and occasionally getting out of their seats to cheer. It was the perfect adventure to add to our spring break fun and a great family night.
We’re so glad that Disney on Ice is back in town and definitely recommend that you see Reach for the Stars! Catch this show while it’s in South Florida and save $5 on your tickets when you use code KIDSAVE18!
