When I found out I was pregnant with my second baby, my friends immediately suggested the idea of throwing a “sprinkle”. Admittedly, I’d never been to a sprinkle before, but I simply loved the idea of celebrating the new addition to our growing family. So after some initial hesitation, I agreed and my friends began planning.
But as the party grew nearer, I kept getting the same question, “What do you need?”. Since a sprinkle is supposed to be a smaller gathering than the shower you typically have for your first baby, people seemed a bit lost as to what to give as a gift. So here are my favorite gifts that I received at my sprinkle and gifts you might consider bringing if you’re attending a sprinkle in the near future.
Diapers – By the time you’re expecting your second baby you understand how expensive diapers can be. If you will have two in diapers at the same time – like I did – you might be looking for a more economical option. That’s why I used Luvs when I became a second-time mom. The official diaper of experienced parents, Luvs Ultra Leakguard Diapers with NightLock Plus™ are softer and more absorbent than before*, with large stretch tabs for easy fastening, ultra-leakage protection and a money-back guarantee. That’s right, if you don’t love them, there’s a money back guarantee! Luvs provides features babies and parents need for less cost than premium brands.
Gender Specific Clothes – If the second-time mom is having a child of a different sex, I highly recommend giving clothes. After having two girls, I had absolutely no boy clothes and was so grateful for all the boy clothes that I could get my hands on. I loved it even more when someone gave me clothes for a variety of ages so I had clothes I could use immediately and a few for when he got older.
Electronics – If you’re looking to give a more expensive gift, consider electronics that may need to be replaced or that the second-time mom could use two of. For example, if new baby will be sleeping in a different room than the older sibling, an additional baby monitor might be of use or perhaps see if you can get an additional camera for a video baby monitoring system the mom already has.
Personalized Gifts – I received a ton of personalized gifts with my first baby, but virtually nothing personalized for my second and third babies. Don’t shy away from personalized nursery art, embroidered loveys, or monogrammed baby clothes. They just might end up being that special gift that the second-time mom treasures.
Gift Cards – Babies are expensive and I loved having a few gift cards that I could spend any way I wanted. And when you purchase Luvs using the $1 off any one Luvs diaper pack coupon, those gift card dollars will go a lot further!
