I have been compensated by Puffs Plus Lotion for this post; however, I am sharing my own thoughts. All opinions are my own. #StockUpOnSoothingSoftness
On Thursday after noon, I got a call. A call I dread. One of my children was sick and needed to be picked up from school. Ugh. I’m not going to lie, I knew with the beginning of a new school year would come sick days, I just had no idea they were coming so soon. Nine days. We only made it nine days into the school year before someone was sent home sick. Poor Hazeline – the child who hasn’t had a sick day in over 18 months – suddenly had over 102 degree fever. New school, new germs, I guess. She looked absolutely miserable when I got there, all flushed with a nose that couldn’t seem to decide between runny and stuffy.
After getting Hazeline from school, I told my husband that we needed to stop to pick up some supplies. I was pretty unprepared for this somewhat sudden sick day. As I went racing through the store I grabbed a thermometer, ibuprofen, and some cough syrup before making a bee-line for the checkout counter.
The one thing I didn’t need to pick up? Tissues! Luckily, I had stocked up on Puffs Plus Lotion at Sam’s Club two weeks before when I was doing my back to school shopping. Talk about thinking ahead!
Tissues are one of those things that I always buy in bulk. With 5 people in our house, 2 of which who suffer from allergies, tissues are an essential item for us. And with sensitive noses, not just any tissue will do. Puffs Plus Lotion are soft and strong, perfect for wiping big and little noses alike.
While I’m thrilled to report that after a whole lot of rest and quite a few Puffs Plus Lotion, Hazeline is now feeling who whole lot better, I’m determined not to be caught unprepared again. That overwhelmed feeling as I raced through the store on Thursday, was not a good one, and one I’d like to avoid for the rest of the school year. So as I was packing up our sick day supplies today, I decided to create our very own Sick Day Survival Kit.
Complete with pain relievers, cough syrup, a thermometer, thermometer covers, cards, coloring pages and crayons, earbuds for the doctor’s waiting room (because I can never seem to find them when I need them!), and 2 boxes of Puffs Plus Lotion, this Sick Day Survival Kit contains everything I’ll need to tackle the next sick day…without that frantic trip to the store on the way home from school. Since each box of Puffs Plus Lotion contain 124 sheets, one box might be enough, but I don’t want to find out the hard way, so I just include two boxes. Plus, I bought the 10 pack of Puffs Plus Lotion for just $13.48 at Sam’s Club, so I still had plenty of boxes to put in each bathroom for everyday use.
For now, my extra boxes Puffs Plus Lotion and Sick Day Survival Kit are in our hall closet, but I’m sure it won’t be long until they get put to good use. Here’s to hoping your kids make it further into the school year without a sick day than mine did, but if they don’t, at lease you can be prepared.

Puffs Plus Lotion
My son and I are going through Puffs like they’re candy. Our allergies are on overdrive. Puffs Plus with lotion is the only kind of tissues I buy.
It’s very inportant to have soft tissues when it’s cold season, other wise your nose goes raw very fast!
This is so funny because I JUST heard my daughter cough and Hubby and I both looked at each other like, uh no… the sickness is coming soon! LOL. We love a good tissue
These is nothing worse than stuff tissues hen my nose gets raw. I do need to stock up on some Puffs!
You are right! It’s time to get ready because it IS coming. Ugh, Puffs Plus, I’m gonna stock up on you!
I’m so not ready for these sick days! I know that they’re coming since school started and the weather is already getting cooler. I hate getting sick, but puffs plus lotion really does help! That’s one of the only brands I’ll buy.
The Puffs tissues with the lotion are the best! They help keep your nose from getting raw and that is a mega plus when you are feeling sick.
I love the idea of putting together a survival kit for cold and flu season. I NEED to do this in a family size lol
We just stocked up! I love these for the kids- NO red noses here!
That is what we buy every time we are sick! WAY better than way of the other tissues!
Aww, I hate that cold and flu season is coming up. My nose always gets so dry from using normal tissue. I’ll be giving these a try!
There is nothing worse than being sick and then realizing the tissues are all gone! Thanks fore the reminder to stock up now. 😉
i love puffs. i keep at least 3 boxes in the house.
Puffs Plus Lotion is the only tissue I will use when I have a stuffy nose. My skin is very sensitive and regular tissues make it so red and sore. I will have to go to Sam’s Club to stock up for Cold and Flu season.
