Do your kids like jokes? Mine do! Tell them a knock knock joke and they laugh and retell it for hours. Give them a joke book and they’ll read it to each other for days, laughing at each new joke until their sides hurt. They’ve even dabbled a bit in creating their own jokes…but their punchlines still need a bit of work. I suppose that will come with age though. Given my kids’ love of humor, I’m extremely excited that United Healthcare Children’s Foundation (UHCCF) has created 2 new joke books with the help of kids nationwide. They’re jokes for kids written by kids.
Released on October 2, 2015 (also known as World Smile Day), the Little Book – Big Laughs Riddle Book and Little Book – Big Laughs Knock Knock Book contain over 500 riddles and 350 jokes, which are sure to provide hours of entertainment for kids and adults alike. These books are a follow up to the very first Little Book – Big Laughs joke book which was released on April Fools’ Day in 2014 and won a Mom’s Choice Gold Award for juvenile books.
But smiles and laughs aren’t the only thing that these books deliver, because proceeds from the sales of these books will help fund UHCCF grants that help families pay for children’s medical expenses not covered, or not fully covered, by a commercial health insurance plan. That’s help for families that need it at the time that they need it. It’s comfort and peace of mind for parents worried over medical bills they can’t pay for treatment their kids so desperately need. Since 2007 UHCCF has funded more than 10,000 medical grants for families totaling more than $29 million.
In addition to the joke books, UHCCF also publishes and sells the award-winning Oliver & Hope’s storybooks, along with other fun child toys and products. Recently UHCCF added two more characters to the Oliver & Hope™ series of super-soft stuffed toys – Charlotte the fox and Hugo the dragon – to give kids cuddles when they need it the most. Like the Little Books – Big Laughs books, proceeds from those books and toys also help fund UHCCF child medical grants.
Intended for kids ages 4 years through 12 years, but no doubt enjoyable for all, the Little Books – Big Laughs books are available now for $5.99 each and can be found on Amazon.
Do your kids like to laugh? Do you know someone who would enjoy these joke books for a great cause?
