It goes without saying that there are tons of great rides at Walt Disney World. In fact, many people know the names of the most popular rides even if they haven’t been to Disney World themselves. Year after year, the same rides make the top of Disney lists, but there are many rides at Disney World that get often get overlooked. The next time you are at Disney World, give these 5 underrated rides a try and you might just end up finding your favorite ride of all.
Prince Charming Regal Carousel, Magic Kingdom
The carousel at Walt Disney World is special because of its location, right beneath Cinderella’s Castle. This ride is perfect at any time of day – offering a covered, quick line during hot sunny days and a romantic spot under the fireworks at night. While many people tend to run for the thrill rides when they enter the parks, this ride is a can’t miss.
Carousel of Progress, Magic Kingdom
This ride is a classic, mostly because it was one of the first rides created and done so my Walt Disney himself for the World Fair of 1964. A ride and a show wrapped into one, this experience demonstrates how far we’ve come technology-wise, while speculating as to where we’ll go in the future. Carousel of Progress is filled with animatronics that are so unique to Disney that everyone has to see and experience them at least once.
Pangani Forest Exploration Trail, Animal Kingdom
Okay, technically not a ride, but this can’t miss attraction requires families to make their way through a meticulously crafted forest filled with animals. You are literally surrounded by jungle and can see animals in their wild enclosures that make it seem like you have just stepped into their world. It. Is. Spectacular. Take the time to complete this trail and you won’t be disappointed, plus the next ride off your feet will be all the better.
Living With the Land, Epcot
Part of the World Showcase, Living With the Land is a leisurely boat ride through a tropical greenhouse. The narrated ride is both educational and informative, as well as entertaining, treating guests to a new view of the plants that fill our lives. After this ride, everyone will have a new found appreciation and interest in the plants that are so unique to our Earth. I’m not sure what it is, but my kids are completely mesmerized by this ride.
Gran Fiesta Tour Starring the Three Caballeros, Epcot
Gran Fiesta Tour boat ride is one of the few rides in the World Showcase. This festive ride takes you through the Mexico Pavilion where you can enjoy the Three Caballeros movie along with images of real life Mexico. The boat ride is slow enough for kids, but entertaining enough for adults to enjoy as well. Plus, it rarely has a line and I dare say their air conditioning is the best in the park on hot days.
