Disclosure: A special thanks to Dylan’s Candy Bar for sponsoring this post. As always, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
Today as I hit the snooze button on my alarm, I happened to catch the date out of the corner of my eye, and promptly realized that the alarm will be going off a whole lot earlier in exactly 3 weeks. That’s right, Greenleigh starts 1st grade in just 3 short weeks. Where has the summer gone? As I scrolled through social media and saw so many of my friends’ kids going back to school today, it became all the more real – summer is ending and school’s strict schedule will be here before I know it. But…but…there’s so much more I want to do! Earlier in the summer I saw bloggers posting their summer bucket lists, and thought it was a great idea, but never got around to actually posting it. So I suppose it’s a bit late, but here’s what’s left of our summer bucket list, including a little sand, a bit of science, and a trip to Dylan’s Candy Bar!
A trip to the beach. That’s right, we live 20-ish minutes from the beach and we haven’t been this summer. As Floridians, I think we often take our beaches for granted, and this summer is a perfect example. I’m sure we’ll go a lot more once the temperatures drop in the fall and winter, but I’d love to get the girls to the beach just once before school starts up again.
Visit Dylan’s Candy Bar. About a year ago my husband went on a date night in Miami Beach. After a delicious dinner we headed to Lincoln Road for dessert, and it wasn’t long before we found Dylan’s Candy Bar. As we marveled at just how many different candies they had in the store – everything from lollipops to chocolate bars to jelly beans and everything in between – we chatted about how much our girls would love it. Because there’s no doubt they’d love it.On our date night, we ended up settling on some chocolate bars and some of their homemade ice cream (their blue mint chip is AMAZING, by the way), and planned to bring the girls back soon, but it just never happened. Until now. Because we will be taking our girls to Dylan’s Candy Bar before the summer is over. I’m pretty sure they’re going to freak out! Just wait until they see how many flavors of candy bars they have available. Cookie Dough Candy Bar? Marshmallow Creme Candy Bar? Red Velvet Cake Candy Bar? Dylan’s Candy Bar has them all! And I highly recommend the Brownie Batter Candy Bar…yum. And did I mention the Hello Kitty chocolate? I think that will be their favorite.
Dylan’s Candy Bar is a summer bucket list must.
Learn a little at the science museum. We haven’t been to our local science museum in over 2 years! It’s time to go back and just in time for a special exhibit titled The Body. They also have special character meet and greets the next few weekend.
Make popsicles. Another easy one, and we just haven’t done it! Crazy, right? I have every intention of correcting this one this week and just ordered the ice pop mold kit to do it.
What’s left on your summer bucket list?
