Hazeline turned 4. She could barely contain her excitement. I, on the other hand, was pretty much beside myself. I mean…4? How did that happen? Maybe that’s why I haven’t even blogged about it until now. I don’t know. All I do know is that 4 years managed to sneak by and “suddenly”, somehow, I find myself with a 4 year old.
Because – as it was explained to me by another mother years ago – 4 is a much different year than all the others up until now. It’s a year that will require less guessing than those newborn and infant years. It’s a year that will include far fewer tantrums than those terrible twos and not-so-terrific threes. It’s a whole new type of independence and the bridge between toddler/pre-schooler and elementary school kid.
And so far, we have some pretty big plans for 4. She’s set to make her flower girl debut later this month, which will hopefully be just as successful as her sister’s flower girl debut nearly 2 years ago. VPK starts in August, and I just know she’s going to love it. She’s particularly excited at the prospect of getting to take a backpack to school everyday (while I dread the idea of all the homework and weekly book reports she’ll bring home in it). And soccer has already been penciled into her fall agenda, which I’m hoping praying she likes more than t-ball...because I’m running out of extracurricular activities ideas for her.
Yes, FOUR is going to be big. BIG.
She is absolutely too cute! Wish I could be 4 again! Lucky girl.
The PRINCESS will b a wonderful 4yr old
