PediaCare Smooth Melts: A Medicine Cabinet Must {Giveaway!}

As we sat around watching the big game on Sunday, I noticed my 5 year old curl up next to my husband.  It was around the end of the first quarter when I realized that she was uncharacteristically quiet and seemed sleepy…even after taking an hour nap earlier that afternoon.  I became even more concerned when she complained that her nose was stuffy just a few minutes later.  But when she declared that she was ready for bed completely unprompted, I knew we were in trouble.  The signs couldn’t have been any clearer – she was getting sick.

It was only then that I realized it was February.  Ugh.

You see, every year around this time, my girls get sick.  Like clockwork.  I don’t know why, but February seems to have my number.  Typically the girls get sick at different times during the month, but the symptoms are the same – runny/stuffy nose, dry cough, headache, body ache, exhaustion, and sometimes even a fever.

No matter how often we go through it, it’s never easy to see my girls uncomfortable, so every year at the beginning of winter, I restock our medicine cabinets.  And this year we have a new addition to our medicine cabinet – PediaCare Smooth Melts.PediaCare Smooth Melts Tablets

Containing acetaminophen to reduce fevers and ease the pain often associate with the flu or common cold, PediaCare Smooth Melts were designed to make taking (and giving!) medicine easier.  Each bottle contains 24 chewable, cherry flavored tablets, which are pre-scored for easy dosing.  Younger kids may take 1 1/2 tablets, while older kids may take up to 3 tablets.   And because they come in a bottle, all unused partial tablets can be stored to be used at a later time, unlike blister packs where you’d need to throw the unused portion away.

Best of all, Smooth Melts aren’t chalky or bitter like other kids’ medications.  Instead, have a taste that your child will actually enjoy.  Ever fight with your child over medication that they didn’t want to take simply because it tasted bad?  Not fun.  And it’s even worse at night.  Trust me, I’ve been there.  To avoid this, PediaCare has partnered with Dr. David Hill, a father and pediatrician, to find a taste that kids would actually enjoy.

Forty-eight hours later, Greenleigh is much improved and I haven’t had to fight her about taking her medicine.  In fact, she’s actually said how much she likes the cherry flavor.  And the tablets are infinitely easier than the liquids that need to be measured and inevitably end up all over my counter top.  PediaCare Smooth Melts might just be the most welcome addition to my medicine cabinet yet!PediaCare Smooth Melts in Medicine Cabinet

    I would want to have the Children IB Ibuprofen Pain Reliever / Fever Reducer. Fevers scare me to death ever since my daughter had a seizure from a high temp.

  5. Christina G says:

    I think the Cough & Runny Nose Plus Acetaminophen should be in everyones medicine cabinet. Allergies are tough for little ones to handle.
