And my very favorite recipe – The Bog King’s Mud Pie! With OREO cookies for dirt, nuts or pretzels for the sticks and rocks, and gummy worms for…well…worms, this desert is amazingly delicious. It’s the perfect sweet ending for you Strange Magic party! You will need:
Chocolate pudding (I used 2 packages of the Cook & Serve chocolate pudding)
Milk
Premade chocolate cookie/graham cracker crust
OREO Cookies
Gummy Worms
Crushed Walnuts (I substituted crushed pretzels because of Greenleigh’s allergy and it worked very well!)
Step 1 – Cook chocolate pudding as directed on the package.
Step 2 – Throw cookies in a plastic bag and crush them up to make the “dirt”. You can use a rolling pin to make this step a little easier. I used the same technique when crushing my pretzels.
Step 3 – Pour chocolate pudding in the crust and sprinkle with crushed OREOs, walnuts/pretzels, and gummy worms. I’m pretty sure that this was my girls’ favorite part!
Step 4 – Chill in the refrigerator for several hours. Tip: These are just as delicious if you skip the crust and make them Bog King Mud Pie Cups. Or create a crust at the bottom of the cup with a few extra crushed OREO Cookies and then add the chocolate pudding. And with all this celebrating going on, don’t forget to see Strange Magic when it’s released on January 23!
