Everett is 1! ONE! It seems hard so hard to believe that he’s a year old (and that I actually survived the first year as a mom of 3)! I have so many emotions that I want to share, along with some adorable pictures from his first birthday photo shoot that I can’t wait to post, but those will all have to wait. First, I want to share a few pictures from our small family party that we had a little over a week ago on his actual birthday. We plan to have a much bigger party at the end of the month – oh, the joys of being born during college football season…your birthday party get’s pushed to your team’s bye week – but there was no way that I was going to let his special day pass without a pretty cake and a few decorations.
I picked a Planes theme because Planes: Fire & Rescue was the first movie that he “saw” at the theater [read: wiggled uncontrollably while occasionally glancing at the screen, until he finally fell asleep only for one of the girls to bump him and wake him up…then he cried]. Plus, there’s a ton of cute stuff out there at party stores, so no need to order and hope it arrives in time. And when I found an adorable Planes cake on Pinterest, it was a done deal. In the end, it was a super affordable and fun way to spend his birthday, even though it was right in the middle of a very busy Sunday.
I just loved the table cloth. The girls kept saying that they were eating on the runway. Too cute!
But my favorite part of this party was the cake. No doubt about it. Elite Cake Creations outdid themselves, especially considering I only gave them 3 days to get it done. The girls were so excited about his birthday that they could barely contain themselves…which left me without any great pictures of the three of them. Oh well, there’s always next year. It was cute to see them excited about their baby brother’s birthday party.
And for his gift? A Planes ride on toy, of course! It was love at first sight!
Now on to the big party! Twelve days to go!
Cute! Where did you find the tablecloth?
Thanks! I got all the table/partyware at Party City. I even found a coupon for $10 off! If you don’t have a Party City near you, I’m pretty sure you can find it on Amazon.
