Anna, Elsa & Olaf are Heading Back to the Big Screen!

Did you catch The Story of Frozen: Making a Disney Animated Classic on ABC last night?  I did!  And I learned so much.  Like how the movie Frozen was original conceived by Walt Disney back in 1937.  And how they had to re-write parts of the script after the song “Let it Go” was finished and Elsa’s character was redefined.  And how even the writers are overwhelmed by the Frozen mania that has taken place since the film’s release.  But more than anything else, I learned that Anna, Elsa, and that summer-loving snowman Olaf are headed back to the big screen for an animated short called “Frozen Fever” due out in Spring 2015!  I can’t wait!WDAS

From Walt Disney Animation Studios comes the new animated short “Frozen Fever,” welcoming back to the big screen Anna, Elsa, Kristoff and, of course, the one-and-only Olaf.

Directed by Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck, and produced by Peter Del Vecho, with an all-new original song by Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez, “Frozen Fever” marks the first project reuniting the Oscar®-winning original team from Disney’s “Frozen.”

The announcement was first made within the ABC Television Network special “The Story of Frozen: Making an Animated Classic,” which aired September 2. The special also featured the world television debut of a scene from the new action comedy adventure from Walt Disney Animation Studios, “Big Hero 6,” as well as a sneak peek at the upcoming season of the ABC series “Once Upon A Time.”

In “Frozen Fever,” it’s Anna’s birthday and Elsa and Kristoff are determined to give her the best celebration ever, but Elsa’s icy powers may put more than just the party at risk.

The short debuts Spring 2015.

Right now there aren’t any clips or photos available, but you better believe that I’ll post them when they are.  For now, check out this clip from the next big movie from Disney Animation Studio, Big Hero 6, which hits theaters on November 7, 2014!

This was first conceived in 1937? Wow—-I guess children have not changed what they like over the years. I kind of always suspected that. Even as an adult I LOVE Disney films.

  2. No wonder Frozen was such a great movie, it was first envisioned by the greatest mind: Disney himself.

  3. Athena says:

We are very excited about this. Of course with Frozen being the major film that it is – this is sure to be a major event too.
