Pop Secret Perfect Pop & A Sinfully Sweet Popcorn Recipe!

If you follow me on Twitter, you’ve probably noticed me talking about Pop Secret Popcorn a lot lately.  Like, a whole lot.  But I have a great reason – every bag we make is absolutely perfect!  Now, in months past, that hasn’t been the case.  Because goodness knows that I’ve burned a bag or two of popcorn in my life.  And as if eating the slightly charred snack or dumping it and having to make a whole new bag isn’t punishment enough, that burned popcorn smell lingers in your house to remind you of your popcorn making failure for days.

But that smell isn’t coming in my house again.  You see, I’ve found the new Pop Secret Perfect Pop App that tells you when your popcorn is absolutely perfect and ready to eat.  It’s simple – download the app, put the popcorn in the microwave, and let the app work its magic.  PopSecretApp CollageAll you need is to keep your phone (running iOS 7+) within 3 feet of the microwave with the microphone unobstructed.  In the off chance that the app “loses contact” with the bag in the microwave, a red warning screen appear.  PopSecretUhOh

But as much as I like popcorn, I love the contrast between salty and sweet, even more.  So I thought this was the perfect time to whip up some Salty & Sweet Candy Bar Popcorn.  But watch out – it’s addicting.  Don’t say I didn’t warn you!CandyBarPopcornYou will need
1 bag caramels (11 oz)
1 bag Pop Secret popcorn
1/2 cup chopped up candy bar of choice
3 Tbsp butter or margarine
1 Tbsp water

Step 1 – Preheat oven to 300 degrees and grease or line your baking sheet.

Step 2 – Heat caramel, water, and butter/margarine over low heat in a stock pot, stirring often.

Step 3 – While caramels are melting, pop Pop Secret popcorn in the microwave using the Pop Secret Perfect Pop app.

Step 4 – Once caramels have completely melted, remove from heat and pour in popcorn.  Toss to coat completely.

Step 5 – Pour caramel popcorn out on a greased (or lined) baking sheet and bake at 300 for 10 minutes.  Stir.  Return to oven for 5 more minutes.

Step 6 – Remove popcorn from microwave and allow to sit for approximately 2-3 minutes, remove from baking sheet, then stir in candy pieces.
