My mom and I don’t get to see each other a lot. We live several states apart and while my kids keep me pretty busy, my mom is also busy taking care of my grandmother. Holiday visits are a must, but during the year we can go months without seeing each other, which is why we really try to make the most of our visits. I often feel like we try to do too much – shopping, movies, crafting, visiting family/friends… Our visits are nothing short of exhausting. But time after time, we end up at the same place – Denny’s. It’s a place for us to sit and unwind at the end of a busy day. To sit and talk about what’s going on in our very busy lives. It’s become a ritual of sorts. Denny’s was the place that we perused brochures when we were planning my wedding, Denny’s was the place that we took my daughter after we took her to her first movie, and Denny’s is often where we go to celebrate our birthdays. It’s cozy and familiar and home-y. Our visits aren’t complete without a Denny’s visit (or two!).
Which is why I was totally flattered when Denny’s approached me about being a Denny’s Diner’s Ambassador. Not only do I love Denny’s, but apparently, Denny’s loves me back! How cool is that? Naturally, I jumped at the chance. And it wasn’t long until all the arrangements were made and I signed on to the Official Denny’s Diner Blogger Ambassador Council. I now officially represent that place that means comfort and family time, and I couldn’t be more excited.
What does this mean for you? So glad you asked! Over the next several months I’ll be bringing you news on all things Denny’s. Like their Avocado Favorites menu that debuted earlier this month featuring their Avocado BLT, Avocado Santa Fe Skillet, and Avocado Bacon Omelette!
And if you’re counting calories, Denny’s has recently expanded their Fit Fare options – just look for the special notations on the menu. There are special symbols for Lean, Light, High Protein, and High Fiber options:
It doesn’t matter if your feeling dinner or lunch, there are tons of Fit Fare options scattered all over the menu (including a couple Slams)!
And for the kids, Denny’s recently partnered with National Geographic in the launch of their Adventure Menu:
These interactive menus feature animal fun facts, quizzes, and fill in the blank stories, along with healthy and delicious meal options like Spaghetti with Broccoli, Mac & Cheese with dippable veggies, and a Groovy Mango Smoothie. There’s even a Build Your Own Jr Grand Slam, which gives kids the ability to create their own breakfast adventure. My girls weren’t with me when my mom, grandmother and I ventured to Denny’s to celebrate my birthday earlier this month, but I snagged a few menus to bring home for them. They love animals!
But as an ambassador, I also have another job – to get your feedback! So tell me, do you love Denny’s as much as I do? What’s your favorite thing on their menu?
Heavens, I haven’t been to a Denny’s in years. There are none any where near where I live. I have eaten there in the past and loved their breakfast menu. Congratulations on your ambassadorship!
I totally want the Avocado BLT. Like, right now.
I used to go to Denny’s when I lived in Columbus OH.. My roommates and I use to go there for breakfast. I miss it. Thanks for sharing.
I am not a huge fan of the old Denny’s menu at my local location. However, I would be very willing to give their new menu items a try. Congrats on being an Ambassador!
oh this is soooo cool! We don’t have a Denny’s around where I live, but I will be looking for them when I’m traveling. We usually find CrackerBarrel before we see a Denny’s but I will start ot look harder!
Congrats
What a yummy opportunity! Their kid’s meals rock!!
I love that they have the National Geographic kids piece. Such a great way to entertain the kids while you’re trying to have a meal. Plus it’s good for them to learn too!
In college, we used to go study and have moons over my hammy. It was so yummy! That is great for you and your family.
How cute is that Denny’s has become something of a family tradition? I think you take your Grandmother, your mother and your daughter to take a picture all eating grand slams! It would be a great family memory, I think! Loved the post.
