Disclosure: This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Beech-Nut as a member of MomSelect. A very special thank you to Beech-Nut for providing samples of their new food for Everett to try out. As always, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
When I was pregnant with Everett, I decided that I would make his baby food. I said the same thing with the girls, but due to a demanding work schedule, it just never got done. I was determined that it would be different this time around. But when we started solids a little after 4 months (at the recommendation of our pediatrician due to his reflux), it didn’t happen. I was exhausted from all the doctor’s appointments. I was struggling with my new work schedule. And the sleep deprivation was (and is) still running rampant in my house. While I had a Hallmark style picture in my head of what it would be like to feed my little boy food that I had made myself, that just didn’t happen. Sure enough, I returned to my old ways of buying store bought food. Nothing wrong with store bought food of course, I just question all those “extra” ingredients that seem to find their way into store bought baby food. Does my baby really need extra Citric Acid? What is Absorbic Acid exactly? ‘Cause that’s what’s you can find on some of those labels. Those “extras” just make me nervous.
Then I learned about Beech-Nut’s new baby food. A different, simpler baby food than those other baby foods with “extra”, unneeded ingredients. A baby food that’s as good as homemade, but convenient located in my grocery store. Check out that label:
No additives. No fillers. No artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives. Just apples. That’s all. In fact, it’s actually called “just honeycrisp apples”. And to make sure that your baby gets maximum nutrition, Beech-Nut has perfected it’s “just gelntle cooking” process which makes sure to make sure to lock all the flavor and freshness in, while still maintaining the integrity of the ingredients. But if your baby doesn’t love apples, that’s okay, because this new food comes in 40 flavors with both single ingredient foods like just carrots and just Bartlett Pears and combination foods like Beets, Pear & Pomegranate and just Pear, Raspberry & Asparagus. And all without those “extra” ingredients that make me nervous.
With each jar containing whole fruits and vegetables – and nothing else – it’s kind of like I’m making my own baby food after all. And it helps that Everett is a huge fan.He virtually gobbled up the Stage 1 apples and carrots we received. And I’m sure once we move up to the Stage 2 foods, he’ll be just as wild about those. Everett is most definitely a Beech-Nut baby!
I find those bottles cute
Actually, I love the jars too! I especially love that they are 4 oz jars for Stage 1, because normally Stage 1 is only 2 oz. I guess it’s just me, but my kids are way too hungry for 2 oz!
Oh, and the crafting potential, let’s not forget the crafting potential! 🙂
I wish these were around when my children were younger. Bravo to them for listening to their customers and making their baby food with less additives.
Someone looks mighty happy that food is being delivered to his mouth! Not everyone can make their own baby food–but everyone can read the labels first. Beech Nut has been around for many years and I see they are keeping up with times.
Wow, it’s amazing to me how much baby food and gear has changed so much in the few short years since my kids were babies/toddlers. Glad to see that Beech Nut is trying to go more natural – great options for moms who can’t make their own food.
I agree! I love that they’ve made this change and, like I said, they help make me feel a little less guilty about not making my own food.
Where was this when I was looking for healthy baby foods?? And that was barely over a year ago! I’ve seen Beech Nut on the shelves, but never saw these particular jars. The ingredients (or lack thereof) look amazing.
Love Beech Nut! We’ve been buying these for my little girl — she LOVES them. I was making my own baby food and loved the idea of it, but it is very time consuming and it wasn’t for us. I was so glad when I saw these on the shelves. Definitely recommend them, too!!
My little guy gobbled them up! So glad they’re on shelves in other parts of the country too!
My babies would have loved that food I’m sure 🙂 Plus I love the look of the jars lol!
I love the simple look of the jars. I always liked baby applesauce, I’d probably eat it right up
I am just loving the jars and think that makes it totally worth buying!!! I have never seen these before! So awesome.
