“Mommy, why don’t you use lotion?”
That was the question Greenleigh asked me as I was helping her put on her lotion after her bath a few weeks ago. Apparently she’s noticed while I stress that she put on lotion each night after her bath, I don’t exactly follow the same rules. So much for privacy in my own home.
But the honest answer is that I just don’t like using lotion on a daily basis. I know that lotion is important – after all, I make sure to put it on my kids daily – but I hate putting it on myself because no matter how much or how little I use, it always feels like it’s sitting in a thin layer on top of my skin. It feels sticky…it feels greasy…it feels gross. And then I have to wait forever while it absorbs enough for me to be able to put my work clothes on, only for the smell to haunt me all day long. I can’t stand it, so I just don’t use it. And as a result, my skin gets dry and irritated. It’s actually red in some places. This winter of erratic temperatures and abnormally low humidity has not been kind to my skin.
But what I didn’t know when I answered Greenleigh that evening is that Vaseline has tackled all of these issues with their new Vaseline Spray & Go. Made with a multi-layer moisture complex, Vaseline Spray & Go absorbs in 10 seconds or less with no sticky or greasy feeling left behind. Its convenient 360 degree spray dispenses quickly, evenly, and without the mess associated with traditional lotions. It’s specially designed for women on the go, so no need to wait for the lotion to absorb. Simply spray, rub in, and go. And best of all, it comes in 3 varieties: Moisturizer, which contains pure oat extract for ultimate softness; Aloe Fresh, which contains pure aloe for a healthy, fresh feeling; and Cocoa Radiant, which contains pure cocoa butter for a beautiful glow. What ever you’re skin needs, Vaseline has you covered!I was lucky enough to get the opportunity to try Vaseline Spray & Go Moisturizer, which was very fitting given the condition of my skin. It really needed moisture – fast.
I’ve been using it for a week now and I’m loving the results. It’s super easy to use, just hold it a few inches from your skin (the package says 4 inches, but who’s counting?) and spray in a continuous motion until the area you wish to moisturize is covered. Then rub in the lotion and you’re done! It’s actually very similar to using a spray on sunscreen. Unlike traditional lotions, Vaseline absorbs fast so there’s no morning slow down waiting for lotion to sink in before you can get dressed. And you don’t need a ton of it to work, but even if you spray on a little extra, it will still absorb into the skin easily.
I’ll admit, I was a bit nervous to try it, but it’s exceeded every one of my expectations and a little more. It has a delightful, fresh scent, it’s small enough to be thrown in my purse, and there’s no sticky, greasy residue left behind. It’s so light, I actually forgot that I put it on one morning. My skin is hydrated and my morning stays on the fast track – I can’t ask for more than that!

That sound handy. I think this would control how much comes out better. Often I squeeze out too much lotion.
I have been meaning to try this for the longest time. I have such dry skin, and never moisturize it. Well, maybe not never but clearly not often enough. I think this would be a lot easier. I always loved spray on sunscreen, so this would be perfect.
Huh…What an interesting product! I absolutely hate lotion too and my hands tend to get dry and cracked during the winter. I’ve been looking for something that doesn’t cause my hands to break out and get itchy afterwards. Thanks for sharing!
