About two week ago, I hit a pretty important milestone – I dropped below my pre-pregnancy weight! That means that not only have I lost the weight that I gained when I was pregnant with Everett, but I’ve dropped an extra two pounds. Okay, it doesn’t sound like much, but that’s a pretty big deal considering I’m less than 2 months postpartum. Add in a few good okay nights of sleep – anything more than 5 consecutive hours now qualifies as good in my book – and I’m feeling much more myself lately. To celebrate these huge accomplishments, I decided that it was time to spruce up my wardrobe a bit. So for the past couple weeks (and especially on Black Friday!), a wardrobe refresh has been on my mind. A few new tops, a couple new pairs of jeans, and shoes, oh, there must be some new shoes!
Lucky for me, the nice people at Fit Flop were generous enough to offer a pair of shoes to add to my wardrobe refresh. A few years I heard about Fit Flops, but I thought that they only made flip flops and sandals, so I was really surprised when I went to their website and found tons of cute flats. It actually took a while to sort through all the options, but I eventually settled on the Due Leather All Black, because I was pretty sure it would match just about everything that I own.
The Due Leather features a ballet flat design with a smooth exterior, scoop cut rounded toe accent, and a 100% leather lining for ultimate comfort. And they come in tons of colors – pewter, rouge, mink, pink punch, and so many more. But what makes the Fit Flop truly different is the sleek Biomimetix™ midsole – meaning the sole isn’t quite completely flat – which optimizes underfoot ergonomics.
Simply put, the Due Leather All Black is the most comfortable shoe that I own. I might even be the most comfortable pair of shoes that I’ve ever worn. Period. While I originally picked this shoe because it would match everything, it quickly became apparent that it’s not just fashionable, it’s functional. You see, I though the fact that the sole isn’t quite flat would create a rocking sensation that I would have to get used to. I was prepared to have to “learn” how to walk in these shoes. But nothing could have been further from the truth. Instead, the combination of the super soft leather lining and the Biomimetix midsole create a cushioning effect that I never expected. I chased my kids around while wearing these shoes. I went up and down the stairs unloading Christmas decorations. I took my dog on long walks. There was no need to “learn” to walk in these shoes. They may look like a ballerina flat on the outside, but they feel like a tennis shoe. In addition to attending just about every holiday party that I’m invited to this season, these Fit Flops will definitely be going with me when I head back to work next month! If you want to learn more about Fit Flop and see all the stylish options for men and women, make sure to check out their website and follow them on Facebook and Twitter.
