Despite living less than 30 minutes from the beach, we aren’t really “beach people”. In fact, we tend to only go when we have company in town…which is exactly what we had this past weekend, so off to the beach we went! The weather wasn’t kind to us, but it didn’t rain and we got pockets of sunshine every now and again. Not that the girls noticed the weather in the least – they were far to busy splashing and having fun.But the thing the girls were most interested in was this tiled mermaid just outside of the restaurant where we went for brunch. It must be a newer addition to this area of the broadwalk because I’ve never seen it before. The girls kept calling her Ariel (despite the fact that she looks nothing like Ariel) and wanting to sit with her. Luckily, I was able to keep them away. I guess that “look but don’t touch” concept is going to be an ongoing lesson.
So I guess we’re good for going to the beach for the next few months…or, you know, whenever we have company again.

I love going to the beach! I love spending the day relaxing by the water listening to the waves hit the sand, the warm sun, and the gulls calling out. Of course I usually spend half the time chasing my toddler around and keeping him safe because he is fearless.
I can NOT wait for our vacation during fall break the first week of October. We are headed to the beach with my whole in-law family and I can NOT wait!
If you are interested, I host a Wordless Wednesday Linky where you can link up and meet other bloggers who join in the WW community. 🙂
I used to live near the beach too and took it for granted – we didn’t really go that often but now that I live 1.5 hours away, I miss it! At least your girls had a good time 🙂
I love these photos, such great fun. We live 5 mins from a beach and go quite often but almost never let the girls actually getin the water, your post iinspired me to let them splash next time we go 🙂
My kids are 4 & 5 and can not wait to go to the beach. They have never been and although we have made many trips back to Florida to visit family, that is just something we haven’t done. It is on out list for our next trip for sure 🙂 Great photos!
For sure you had fun. We love going to the beach here in Florida
Well, for the girls sake, we will have to come back down soon 🙂
