Over the weekend our city held a Touch-A-Truck event at a local park. I’d been to one of these events before (in another city), so I figured that there would be a fire truck, police car, and maybe a few other cars/trucks for the kids to look at, but never expected it to be such a big event. There were garbage trucks, moving trucks, pressure cleaning trucks, antique military vehicles, ambulances, tractors, and so many more. All for the kids to touch, drive, and play in. The police department even came out and offered free finger printing and ID cards for kids, along with “Junior Deputy” sheriff stickers, which the girls loved. The weather was hot and unforgiving, but the kids were having so much fun that they didn’t seem to mind at all.I think this is my kids’ first time in an ambulance…and I’d really like for it to be the last thank you very much.Hazeline hanging out in a moving truck:But Greenleigh’s favorite was the pressure cleaning machine. They had one side shooting out air and on the other side they held a hose in front of the air so it misted the kids. Greenleigh spent nearly a half an hour running from one side to the other.I’ve heard this is an annual event, so there’s no doubt we’ll be back next year!

Oh that is so cool! They get a whole new perspective of how big those things are when their tiny little bodies are in them, huh? thanks for joining me this week. See ya soon!
Our local libraries host these sometimes on a smaller scale and the kids LOVE it! Great photos 🙂
Wow! We have been to a similar event in our area but it was no where near the scale of this. I love the pink one, my girls would love it too. Great pictures 🙂
What fun! I can’t wait until my little one is interested in things like this. What a great event.
OMG! I have never heard of event like this. My boys would love that! I am going to check if they do this here in Fort Worth, TX.
Oh, I love that idea — how fun! Looks like the kids had a great time.
Any opportunity to get the kids out in the community and learn about first responders is always a plus in my book. Glad the kids had fun.
How much fun is this! I think my grandchildren would love an event like this on our city.
