It’s tough having a birthday around the holidays…just ask my husband. And while a birthday anytime in December is tough, I think it’s infinitely more difficult when your birthday falls during the week between Christmas and New Years. There’s just so much going on that it’s easy to get overlooked or mixed in with the other holidays book ending it, even when you promise yourself that isn’t going to happen. And we always make that promise…
But today we celebrated my husband’s birthday – amidst the chaos of the holidays and the throngs of people visiting Atlanta for the Chik-fil-a Bowl. I’d tell you how old he is, but earlier today in a somewhat embarrassing and funny moment, it became apparent that I had his age wrong, and not just by one year. I’d hate to get his age wrong again, but at least I gave him credit for being a few years younger. Oops.
Our original plan was to go to one of his favorite restaurants from his college days and then head to the Georgia Aquarium, but apparently the aquarium was sold out (Thanks Tiger fans!). We ended up adjusting our plans slightly and going to the Children’s Museum, which was conveniently located the next block over. The girls had a blast!
And we ended the day with cake and presents and birthday kisses for the best husband and father we could ever ask for! Happy Birthday Erajh!
