It’s the season of Fir trees, Santa, snow, and sweets. No matter how I try to get around it, sugary treats are everywhere at this time of year and my kids want to eat them all. I love them too, but too many are never a good thing. As a result, I find myself looking for healthier candy alternatives to feed the need for sweets, and I was thrilled to hear that YumEarth released gummy bears to celebrate the season.

When I first opened the package, I was surprised – these aren’t your typical gummy bears. First, they’re larger than normal. These bears are probably one-and-half times the size of your normal gummy bear, which for me, reduces the worry over choking. Second, I expected them to be brightly colored and overly sweet. So not true. I guess I forgot about the fact that YumEarth contains no artificial colors or flavors. Instead, these bears are all a yellow-ish color and the flavor is very mild. Sure, it’s sweet, but not over powering. Finally, I had no idea the power that these gummy bears would have. For Greenleigh, these gummy bears are the ultimate treat. It didn’t surprise me that she liked them since she has a love for things that are sour and tart, but I can’t believe how much she loves them…to the point where she finished the first package I gave her, hid it in the small pocket on her carseat, then told me that she had lost them so she needed some more. She eventually came clean and told me that she ate all of hers but needed some more. She’s a pretty funny kid.
