I wouldn’t exactly describe myself as “green”, but I genuinely try. We recycle, we upcycle, and we use eco-friendly products whenever possible. As a kid living in smog infested Los Angeles, I was always taught to do these things, but it became even more important after I had my girls. It’s my job to take care of my kids and part of that is making sure that they have a clean environment. But it doesn’t end there. I also want to ensure a safe and clean environment for their kids and even their grand kids (just saying that boggles my mind, but it’s true). Sure, it’s a tall order, but every little bit helps.
I really made buying green products a priority after Hazeline was born. Hazeline had eczema, which would cause her skin to become red and inflamed. It only took the pediatrician one look to diagnose it and determine it was probably the baby products we were using. At that point, I researched like crazy to find the safest baby products available, and ended up learning about the harsh chemicals that were in ordinary baby products. I just couldn’t believe it. Sure enough, once we switched to different baby products, Hazeline’s skin settled down and she’s had virtually no skin problems since. From that point on we’ve primarily stuck with companies that make eco-friendly baby products, like ones made by The Honest Company.
When looking for eco-friendly products, I always try to keep in mind the packaging used, the ingredients in the product, and what the company is doing to give back to the world around them. Sometimes, those products that claim to be “eco-friendly” aren’t really eco-friendly at all. Or maybe the product is, but the packaging isn’t. But The Honest Company does it all – from the product to the packaging, to the world around them, The Honest Company really is eco-friendly. Their products contain no harsh chemicals and they use only natural, organic, sustainably harvested, renewable, pure raw materials. And when it comes to shipping and office materials, The Honest Company only uses 100% renewable and/or recycled materials (this is true of their products as well). I also love that with every purchase made, they donate time, funds, and product to Baby2Baby.org, a non-profit organization that provides needy families with the baby gear and clothing they need. With their principles and their goals listed right on their website, you can see exactly what The Honest Company is and wants to be.
Baby products from The Honest Company are designed to not only be safe and sustainable, but they’re also intended to be fun and stylish. Just check out these diaper patterns:
Designed by fashion insiders and artists like Alexander McQueen, Banksy, and Murakami, these diapers really make a statement. So much for boring diapers. It’s all the fun prints of cloth diapering in a disposable diaper that’s good for the environment!
Words from The Honest Company:
The Honest Company was started by a mom and a dad who, like many modern parents, were increasingly worried about products made with questionable chemical ingredients. But the alternatives they found were often expensive, inaccessible, bland, or ineffective. In response to this clear need for something better, they created The Honest Company to ensure that parents (or anyone for that matter!) could easily find natural and non-toxic eco-friendly products that are beautiful, effective, and affordable. From customized product bundles to diapers and wipes to an ever-expanding line of cleaning and personal care products, you can find everything you need at Honest.com and have it delivered directly to your front door.

The diapers are so cute! Way better than regular disposables. A friend told me she loves Honest recently, too. I will have to give them a try!
These are adorable! I’m not sure with my next one I’m ready to go cloth, but I would definitely try these!
