Well it’s official – The holidays are in full swing at our house! My mom and grandmother arrived last night, my sister will arrive early next week, and Erajh’s family is expected just before Thanksgiving. It’s going to be a very full house and, contrary to crazy looks that I’ve gotten, I’m really excited about it. I can’t wait to get cooking next Thursday and fill the house with smell of holiday food. Just the thought of it reminds me of big family gatherings when I was little.
It’s funny smells can trigger memories of holidays past and how holiday memories can take you home, even when you’re far away. Because unlike my family, there are lots of families that won’t be able to be together for the holidays this year.
