My husband is a huge tea drinker – iced, hot, and all the different flavors – he loves it all. Me? Not so much. I’m way more particular. I tend to stick to flavored teas and then add sugar. But then I wonder, how good can this drink be for me? Sure, it can make you feel better when you’re sick, but what about all that sugar? That can’t possibly be healthy. And I’ve really been trying to be a little healthier this year by cutting down on unnecessary sugars. In the end, I drink my tea, but feel a little guilty. I’m trying to cut sugar everywhere else, why not with my hot drinks as well? Now, there just might be an answer to this dilemma – Nevella To Go.
Nevella To Go is a liquid sweetener in a travel size plastic bottle, so you can sweeten any thing you’d like any where you want. It comes in 3 flavors (Monk Fruit, Stevia, and Sucralose), but contains no calories or carbohydrates. ZERO. It’s even gluten-free. And to make it even easier, you don’t even need to stir the liquid sweetener, just squirt a small amount into your drink and it dissolves instantly (and sweetens evenly throughout your drink!). The truly amazing thing about Nevella is that while the container might be small at only 1.68 ounces (50 mL), it goes a long way. For example, the 1.68 oz container of Stevia is equivalent to 80 packets of that other sweetener, the Monk Fruit is about 40 packets, and the Sucralose To Go is equivalent to a whopping 100 packets! Who knew you could put so much in such a little container?
So I decided to try the Stevia To Go in place of regular sugar. I had heard great things about Stevia in general, but had never tried it before, so wasn’t sure what to expect. I made my tea as usual and squirted the Stevia in. The instructions said that I didn’t need to stir it, so I didn’t, and sure enough, you could taste the sweetener in the very first sip. I was actually surprised because I expected this sweetener to be less sweet than using granulated sugar, but as it turns out it was just as sweet, if not sweeter. And you could taste it from the very first sip to the last. The only question that I had was weather I had used too much. There’s no way to measure out how much you squirt into your beverage, and I wondered if I had been to liberal. But when I thought about it, I guess it’s okay to go a little crazy when there are no calories or carbohydrates involved.
