Today is one of those days. I can’t keep focused to sit down and write a post on any one particular issue. I want to, but I just can’t. So, instead, I bring you random tidbits about nothing in particular.
- Yesterday, I was off of work but the girls’ daycare was open. So off to school they went. And I worked on getting the house in order. Remember how I had plans of a blue living room? Yeah, well, that didn’t work out, but I’m loving my new blue couch set. Okay, not really “new”, but a hell of a pre-loved find. There’s an ottoman on the other side too, I just don’t have a good picture of it. Oh, and that black chair in the back is going to my husband’s office. The curtains are going too, but I’m not sure where yet.
- I’ve also learned that a day off means spending money…for us at least. But we did get lots of nice things for the house. Like this picture and table. And I’m pretty in love with the lamp, while we’re talking about it.
- This morning, I found Greenleigh here:She’s on the landing of our stairway, hugging the water tank of her humidifier. Erajh walked right past her as he left the house and didn’t notice. I feel like the toddler bed transition is getting worse and worse by the day. She’s up at least 4-6 times after I put her in bed every night and gets up way too early in the morning. By the time 5 pm hits she’s cranky and exhausted. And so am I.
- If someone asks for chicken soft tacos without lettuce, you can’t put the lettuce on, realize you made a mistake, and then take the lettuce off. It just doesn’t work that way. You have to re-make the taco. Separating lettuce and cheese is tricky, if not impossible. There’s always shreds of lettuce left behind, making it virtually inedible to those of us that do not like lettuce. This was a point that was apparently lost on the taco place where I ordered lunch.
- More than anything else in the world, I hate having to call in to work to let them know that I won’t be there or will be late due to my sick child. Soon after the picture above was taken, Greenleigh started puking. Thankfully, our go-to babysitter is in town, so she could stay with Greenleigh and I could go to work. But I’d rather be home with my sick child.
- Invites for our house party have gone out. It was an evite, but whatever… A lot of people have said they are coming, but the few people who can’t come it still make me sad. Is it wrong to be upset that people won’t reschedule other things to make it to our party? Maybe, but I want them to. I really do.
- Hazeline can sing the ABC song all the way to the letter “G”. I’m pretty sure she’s a genius.
- I can’t handle all the political bashing on Facebook, but I also hate the people who send out messages like, “I can’t handle the political bashing on Facebook, so I’m leaving. I’ll see you the day after Election Day.” Not sure which I dislike more. Really? You can’t just block the repeat offenders? Because we all have repeat offenders in our Facebook stream. And you need to make announcement to everyone so people will beg you to stay? Then, off course, the person who swore off Facebook posts a picture of their dog the very next day as if nothing happened. No, I will not like that picture (no matter how cute the dog is).
