Today was the day – back to school. It doesn’t affect me as much because my kids go to daycare year round, but the increased traffic always proves to be a challenge. As I sat on Facebook this morning scrolling through my friends pictures of their kids going back to school, I found myself determined to take my own back to school picture of Greenleigh. After all, today was the day that she would be moving over to a new classroom at daycare, one that is more structured and dedicated to learning than her last classroom. Since it was kind of a big deal, I had a special shirt set aside for the occasion.
I actually received this shirt a few weeks ago from t-shirts.com, but wanted to hold on to it for a special occasion. I figured it would make the perfect back to school shirt.
True story – was Strawberry Shortcake for Halloween when I was 4 or 5. You know, back when they had those plastic masks and body of the costume was similar to a garbage bag? Yes, I was and still am a huge fan of Strawberry Shortcake, so when I saw this shirt on tshirts.com, I added it to my cart right away. I was also intrigued because it said that it not only had a picture of Strawberry Shortcake on it, but it smelled like actual strawberries. How could that be possible? But wouldn’t it be cool if it were true, I thought.
So imagine my surprise when this sweet smelling shirt actually showed up at my door in a matter of days. I couldn’t believe it. It arrived so quick and really did smell like strawberries! But besides smelling great, I was amazed at how soft the fabric was. It was light but you couldn’t see through it, like you can we so many other white shirts. The pinks on Strawberry Shortcake’s outfit were vibrant and showed no wear when washed.
I love that this shirt is a little nostalgic for me and yet totally exciting for Greenleigh. She was extra enthusiastic about going to school today to show off her new shirt.
Can someone please tell me how she got so big so fast? Really, how did this happen?
