Spring is most definitely here! Our weather is warmer and my kids want nothing more than to spend time outside. And I’m more than happy to get outdoors with them before the unbearable heat of summer kicks in. Lately, everytime were’re outdoors, Greenleigh insists on bringing her bubbles, so when I heard that Imperial Toy was looking for bloggers to review their spring bubble toy collection, I submitted my name and crossed my fingers. I knew my kids would flip if we were choosen, and it was my lucky day when we were selected for this wonderful opportunity.
I can’t tell you how excited I was to surprise the girls with the items Imperial Toy had sent – Miracle Bubbles Glow Fusion, Hi Beam Sabre, Cyclops Water Balloon Launcher, Tie-Not, biodegradable water balloons, and Bubble Turbine. The Miracle Bubble Glow Fusion is glowing bubble solution. To make the solution glow, you add two activators and stir for one minute. Greenleigh loved watching the solution go from clear to glowing orange. The glowing bubble solution is supposed to be used with the Hi-Beam Sabre, which is a light up bubble wand for ages 5 and up. The real perk of this wand is the light up handle that really caught Greenleigh’s attention. My girls actually had a little fight over this toy before we even went outside. The Tie-Not makes filling and tying the water balloons easy, and will get a ton of use this summer. I had to use this one, as it was a bit above Greenleigh’s ability. She did like the water balloons and Cyclops water balloon launcher though. Finally, the Bubble Turbine uses a fan to blow long continuous bubbles and is meant for kids 3 years and up. This one was a hit the second Greenleigh laid eyes on it.
With our new toys in hand we headed outside for some bubble fun. We had already been to the park this weekend, so we decided to stay home. Greenleigh was having a ball playing with the Sabre and Bubble Turbine, when four little kids showed up and wanted to know what we were doing. We offered to have them join us, and although they politely declined at first, they eventually agreed to join in the fun. And then more kids joined in. And more. Before I knew it, I was hosting a bubble block party with all the neighbors kids.
It wasn’t long before the parents of the kids showed up and we all started to talk and catch up. We know our neighbors, but often don’t take the time to chat. It was so much fun to watch all the kids share and enjoy themselves with something so simple. As the sun began to go down, the kids were mesmerized by the glowing bubble solution. I had always thought that bubbles were only interesting to little kids, but our neighbors ten year old was having as much fun as Greenleigh, who is only 2 years old. He might have been having even more fun, because I saw him turn down the chance to play football with his dad, to continue playing with the Bubble Turbine.
Now that I think about it, I think the Bubble Turbine was probably the favorite of all the toys sent, with the Hi-Beam Sabre being a close second. We were able to use the Glow Fusion Bubble Solution with both the Sabre and the Wand, and the kids loved to see the long stream of glowing bubbles coming from the Turbine. Regardless of the age suggestions, the kids tried and loved all of the bubble toys.
Our bubble party lasted about 30-45 minutes, at which point it was dark and we needed to go into the house. The kids were so appreciative and asked if we could to it again tomorrow night. One of the little girls hugged me and told me what a good time she had. It really was a neat experience. The kids had fun and it was nice to get a chance to talk to our neighbors.
Lesson learned: All kids love bubbles. To get some of your own, check out Imperial Toy or keep up with them on Facebook!
