A couple months ago I posted about how our Little Gym was closing. To say I was a little sad about the whole thing would be an understatement, but now, 2 months later, I have much happier news to report – We have found a new Little Gym! At first I was hesitant to go to an new Little Gym. We had been to other Little Gyms in our area, and it wasn’t a good fit for us, but when the owner of a Little Gym that we hadn’t been to reached out to me (via comment on this blog) I thought it was worth a try. And when I found out that they had hired Greenleigh’s favorite instructor to teach a weekend class for her age group, I was sold.
It takes us 35 minutes and 3 highways to get there (and there’s always a chance Greenleigh could pee on me during circle time), but she’s happy, and that’s all that matters. We miss so many of the families that we used to see on a weekly basis, but a few have moved to the same gym, and we are making new friends. Luckily, we have been able to keep up via email with many of the families who did not move to the new gym. We are actually going to a birthday party for one of the families in March and I plan to have quite a few of those same families on Greenleigh and Hazeline’s birthday invitation lists.
Although we have only been at the new Little Gym since the beginning of January, it’s technically halfway through their year-round program, which can only mean one thing…awards! Greenleigh waited as patiently as she could for her name to be called and then went into a mad sprint to collect her award. ‘Cause she just knew if she didn’t get there fast enough they would give it away to someone else.
She accepted her award with grace and had a long acceptance speech planned,
But she decided to soak up the lime light for a while instead. She apparently lost track of time, because before she knew it, they were ushering her off “stage”.
On Sunday night, I asked Greenleigh what her favorite part of the day was and she said her gym teacher’s name. Yep, that made getting up, dressed, and out of the house by 8:50am on the weekend totally worth it. No doubt.

How fun! I loved that her favorite part was his name!
