Remember how I said sleep was my long-lost BFF? I meant it. I love my sleep, but the quality and quantity of it took a nosedive after Greenleigh was born. Gone are the days when I could sleep until 11am. Oh, how I long for those days. And apparently the kids now have me trained so even when they are staying with Grandma, I still wake up by 8am.
So maybe that is why family naptime is my favorite part of the weekend. Two hours dedicated solely to sleep each day. And everyone seems to know what time it is. The cat and dog normally take the lead. Greenleigh eventually gives in and Hazeline is the last to fall asleep. Erajh and I then try to get what sleep we can get before someone wakes up…but everyone sleeps and it is glorious.
Sometimes people ask me if Greenleigh still takes naps. I suppose she is around the age when kids sometimes decide they no longer need a nap. But what about me? I need a nap. Thank goodness Greenleigh has not decided to drop her nap. Nap time won’t be going anywhere anytime soon if I get a say in the matter.
I leave you now to go participate in the family nap myself, but before I do so, I give you picture of my napping baby:
because who doesn’t love a sleeping baby?
My little side sleeper. She sleeps the same way I do – maybe it’s genetic?
Cute picture!! And naps = heaven. I’m pregnant with our first and I’m already learning to appreciate the beauty of a nap!
Congrats on your pregnancy! Such an exciting time. Glad you are still able to get a good nap in – it’s tough to sleep when you are uncomfortable and need to pee all the time!
Every two hours. That’s how often I’m awake EVERY night. It’s incredible, really…how much I have to pee.
Also: thank you!!
