I’m constantly amazed by all the fun bath products that you can make at home. I’ll admit, years ago, I was the girl who didn’t believe that you could even make bath products at home and now I find myself experimenting all the time with different recipes for sugar scrubs, masks, and cleansers, all made from ingredients in my own kitchen. Oh how times change… My new favorite DIY bath product? Fall Cookie Bath Bombs!
Because there’s nothing more relaxing than a bath bomb (fizzy) added to your bath at the at the end of a long day. And bath fizzies with a hint of pumpkin and cinnamon just as we turn the corner into October? That’s tough to beat.
These bath bombs may look like cookies (sprinkles and all!), but their actually packed with baking soda and citric acid which produces a fizzing reaction when added to water. The fizzing releases the fall scents inside the bath bomb into the water, providing not only a really cool reaction to watch, but a little extra relaxation to that bath you look forward to at the end of a long day. These DIY Fall Cookie Bath Bombs are no doubt the sweetest addition to your bath and a must try!
You will need:
1 cup baking soda
1 cup citric acid (found in the canning section of your local craft store)
1/2 cornstarch
3 tablespoons coconut oil
1 tablespoon pumpkin
1 tablespoon cinnamon
Fall Leaf sprinkles
Step 1 – In a medium sized mixing bowl, combine corn starch, citric acid, and baking soda. Mix well. Add coconut oil and stir with a fork to keep the mixture light and fluffy. Slowly add the pumpkin and cinnamon as you continue stirring with a fork. Finally, add the sprinkles. You want enough for them to be seen in each of your “cookies”.
Step 2 – Using your hands shape the mixture like a small cookie. Lay on a baking sheet or tray.
Step 3 – Allow bath bombs to dry overnight. Once completely dry, lay them out in your own bathroom or wrap them up and give them as a gift. When you’re ready to use them, just drop them in the bath and let them work their fizzy magic!
