My girls love fruit. I feel like every time my husband or I go to the store, we’re picking up more blueberries, strawberries, oranges, melon. You name it – we buy it. And they gobble it up. But sometimes they don’t eat it fast enough or I stock up at the store because it’s on sale, only for me to take it out of the fridge later and find out that it went bad. I can’t tell you how frustrating it is to take an entire container of strawberries that I just bought out of the fridge to find mold on it. It breaks my heart (and my wallet) to have to throw them out. But recently, I was introduced to the Oransi Fridge Ionic Purifier, which has virtually solved this problem.
The Oransi Fridge Purifier runs on 2 AA batteries and is designed to eliminate odors, kill bacteria, and reduce food spoilage. When you turn it on for the first time, it will run for 30 minutes. After that, it only runs for 5 minutes every 2 hours, and the batteries should last up to 90 days. It’s extremely quiet, but the LED light will blink letting you know when it’s working. If it blinks continuously, that means that its battery needs to be replaced.
This magic little machine has been in my fridge for a little over a month and I can already see the savings. My fruit stays fresher, much longer than it ever did before I got it. Where I had fruit going bad within 3-4 days it now stays fresh and mold free for up to 10 days. In fairness, my strawberries and pre-cut fruit still tend to go bad within 7-8 days, but my blueberries, melons, and other fruits will stay fresh much longer. But it doesn’t end with fruit, I feel that all of my food is staying fresher longer, which is saving me money at the grocery store.
But Oransi will you money in more than just your fridge – they also make a Robby Wash Laundry Ball that can save you a ton of money on detergent. Inside that small ball are tiny pellets that clean your clothes. Just throw the ball in at the beginning of a wash and let it air dry once you’re done using it. The repeat…over and over and over again. When the pellets need to be replaced, just pop open that blue cap on the front, empty the old ones, and fill it with new pellets (each ball comes with 3 refill packs!). It’s laundry simplified. And did I mention that it’s hypoallergenic? Because it is, so it’s safe to use on even you kids clothes. But the very best part is that it can be used on any type of fabric and is good for 120 washes. That’s a little over 2 washes a week for an entire year! Can you imagine not having to buy detergent for an entire year? Think of the savings!
I’ll admit, I was skeptical at first, but my clothes are just as clean as when I use regular laundry detergent and the smell is divine – very light and fresh; not overly perfume-y. Honestly, my husband is pretty picky about the detergent I use on his clothes, so I won’t use this every single wash, but I love having it as a alternative.
