So here it is, the post I’ve been promising for over a week now – Hazeline’s Minnie Mouse Birthday Party! It’s not that I haven’t wanted to write this post, it’s just that I didn’t take a ton of pictures at the party. After all the planning and prepping, I was just so busy enjoying time with the birthday girl and our friends. In fact, I don’t think we would have any pictures of the party with our camera if my husband hadn’t gone into our bedroom to get it about halfway through the party. So as a result, I had to rely on others for pictures. I even had to snag a few off Facebook. The quality of every picture may not be great, but make no mistake it was a great party!
It all started with the invites (designed and assembled by Gabby Cat Creations on Etsy). This isn’t the best picture, but everyone loved them. I got compliments on them from the day that they started arriving in people’s mailboxes all the way up until the day of the party. Since Hazeline loves balloons so I got a ton of them to decorate (naturally, I don’t have a picture of any of them), but couldn’t help but buy this from KK’s Handmade Wreaths on Etsy. You might remember that I once tried making a wreath like this…let’s just say I was thrilled to hand the honor over to someone else for this occasion. And the shop owner went out of her way to make sure that the wreath arrived in time for the party. Just one of the reasons I pink puffy heart Etsy.Once again, we had the music lady come for a performance. I was concerned that it was going to be to “young” of an activity for a lot of the kids, but they really seemed to enjoy it.And of course we got our picture so I can reminisce later (the girls’ Minnie Mouse dresses are from The Disney Store). But the cake was probably my favorite part of the party (but really, when isn’t cake my favorite part of any party…or wedding…or special occasion?). Shannon from Cups & Cakes really out did herself! I can’t want to see what she has in store for Greenleigh’s party.I think the kids liked the bounce house the best. All I can say is: Best. Purchase. Ever. We now own it for the cost of what I would have spent to rent one for each of their birthday parties this year. I was so concerned about it being big enough, but the kids didn’t seem to notice the size at all (its 12 ft x 9 ft). They all just climbed in and bounced to their heart’s content. I’m using it all summer…and forever. And then there were the favors, also known as Greenleigh’s favorite part. She helped me stuff the cups full of toys and candy and insisted on making sure that everyone left with the right color – pink for girls, red for boys. I tried explaining that kids could pick which ever color they wanted, but she wasn’t having it.Don’t worry, our table’s not slanted. I just couldn’t take this picture straight for some reason. Oh well.
Kids also left with a stuffed animal Mickey or Minnie with a little note around it’s hand that said “Thank you for celebrating with me! XOXO, Hazeline”It was a fun but exhausting day. Do I look exhausted here?
Trust me, I was. But I had to recover quickly because it’s now T-12 days until Greenleigh’s party. Eeek.
