Yesterday as I sat in a deposition, I was more nervous than I had been in a long time. Not because of the deposition itself, but because the guy being deposed was sick. Very sick. If it had been my client, I would have advised him to stay home, but he wasn’t, so he showed up. Completely nauseous. He said it was food poisoning and that he had been up all night, but was feeling better…which we believed until we had to take a break for him to throw up. We might have stopped the proceedings right there if we weren’t 20 minutes from the deposition being over. Plus, the guy didn’t want to stop the proceedings. Trust me, that was offered numerous times. So instead, we sat there, nervous that he’d have to excuse himself again.
And just like that, my stomach started to get upset. I knew it was my nerves, but I couldn’t help it. So I dug into my purse and pulled out a Tummy Drop. I have never been so happy to have a Tummy Drop on me…ever. I only wished I had remembered that I had them on me earlier. Within seconds, I was sharing them with the rest of the people in the room, who all seemed to have the same problem. And I made sure to give one to the guy being deposed, because there was no doubt, he needed a drop more than any of us.
If you’ve never heard of Tummy Drops, they’re a natural lozenge-type drop, made by Enternal Health and designed especially to improve digestive health by soothe upset stomachs. Which is good, because that’s exactly what I had right at that moment. They make two flavors: Natural Ginger & Natural Peppermint, each with a different purpose. While both will help soothe upset stomachs, the ginger can calm nausea, morning sickness, and motion sickness; the peppermint can help soothe cramps and bloating. I tend to carry the ginger with me because I like the taste more when I’m feeling ill. Best of all, these drops are natural, and don’t have any of the side effects that you often find with other digestive help medicines that you can pick up in a drug store, prescription or otherwise. As you can see, the drops look identical to hard candy, but the flavor is very mild. Every time I’ve used them, I’ve only needed one to soothe my stomach, but adults can take up to 8 per day if you are experiencing persistent pain…or morning sickness, because we all know that just because it’s called morning sickness doesn’t mean it only strikes in the morning hours. I’m definitely keeping these on hand for when we (eventually) have baby #3 because they work so well.
