As you can probably see by the recipe tab at the top of my blog, I love to bake. It’s a delicious way of creating and makes my house smell fabulous. But I didn’t grow up in a house where we did a lot of baking. Actually, when I was a kid the only time that I remember baking was around the holidays. We made dozens and dozens of cookies during the month of December, and the smell from our baking adventures would linger in the kitchen over a few days. I remember walking into the house from school, smelling the cookies, and instantly being of our fun family baking time in the kitchen. Even now, when I smell certain kinds of cookies baking, I’m reminded of those times where it was me, my mom, and my sister baking away like happy little holiday elves. Funny how scents can transport you to a different place and time.
