In January, I made a list of the 12 things that I wanted to accomplish in 2012. Number 12 on that list was to throw my mom the best retirement party ever, and today (well actually, last Saturday), I got to cross that one off my list. After 43 years of teaching my mom finally retired! The party was held at CityRange restaurant in South Carolina – great food, lots of people, and fabulous service! If you are ever planning a party in Upstate South Carolina, I highly, highly recommend them. Although my mom was the honoree, Greenleigh and Hazeline stole the spotlight. The girls got bored, but luckily, the restaurant had toys there for them to play with. Hazeline didn’t know how to use it, but she liked it.The only picture of me that I have. Please forgive the bad camera phone picture, but it’s all I have. My mom is in the front on the right. Now pictures of food:This was during the speeches. My mom was so nervous about what we were going to say, but everyone was nice.
The cake was from Couture Cakes of Greenville in strawberry lemonade flavor – Delicious! Since my mom’s party wasn’t until the evening, we got a chance to go to the farmer’s market in Downtown Greenville earlier that day. They had all sorts of cars, trucks, trolleys, etc for the kids to explore. Greenleigh loved it!This day is coming soon, and I’m not ready. Good thing this was just practice.
Pulling the trolley bell:It was a great trip. Now I just need to attack the other 11 things on my list!
Hi! I’m so glad you were able to cross this off your list and that your mom had a fabulous retirement party!
