Have I ever mentioned my love for Etsy? ‘Cause I love it, I really do. In case you aren’t familiar with Etsy, it’s the home of all things handmade. So many creative people all in one place, that no matter what you need, someone can make it for you. It has become my go-to place when I need something that I can’t make on my own, and let’s face it, there’s a lot that I can’t make.
When it came time to schedule Hazeline’s 6 month pictures I was sure I was going to need a cute accessory or two. I headed straight to Etsy and began looking for hats. As I searched through the items, the hats from Babes ‘n Beads stood out amongst the rest. They had so many hat options available – cats, monkeys, cows, owls, puppy dogs, zebras, the list goes on and on. Better yet, their hats are customizable in any color combination you could ever possibly want. I don’t think there is a color that they don’t have. Plus, they make hats in sizes from newborn to adult, so if I wanted to buy a hat for Greenleigh later, I could always get one made in her size. There were so many choices that picking one was difficult, but after some inner debate I settled on this pink and green owl hat. I purchased the hat and received it almost immediately. Seriously, it maybe took 3 days to receive in the mail…it might have even been 2 days. I was amazed.
I was even more excited when I opened the package to find the absolutely beautiful hat inside. Such high quality, and the colors are just as vibrant as they are online. I had ordered a 6-12 month size, and was a little worried about how it would fit considering Hazeline just turned 6 months at the time, but it is the perfect size and has room for her to grow. The cotton is soft and flexible, great for little ones. When you look at this hat, it is obvious how much time someone put into making it and the attention they paid to every detail. I was beyond thrilled with my purchase.
So then it was off to take some pictures.

Hey Jennifer; What a great Mom you are and Greenleigh is precious in her hat. Good choice. I don’t know the character of the hat that the infant is wearing on the right of the advertisement by the word “color”. I would keep it just those colors — green with a pink & white flower, but I’d make the top stitching pink if I could. And while were wishing, I might add I would give it to Angela, an expecting mom that I work with, she’s having a girl in Feb 2012 and she is new to the area and her husband is fighting for us overseas.
